Chen Yihui

China Program Fellow

Chen Yihui serves as Pacific Environment’s China Program Fellow, and her work focuses on plastic pollution reduction. She is passionate about leveraging corporate power to promote sustainability and a circular economy.

Yihui has worked at a variety of international environmental organizations on corporate responsibility and campaigns, including Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), Science Based Targets Network (SBTN), and Enveritas. As a vegetarian, she has also focused on sustainable, climate-friendly, and healthy and just food systems. She believes that the key to making societal change is building connections with diverse stakeholders and communities, and using those relationships to influence corporations and policy. She enjoys working in innovative spaces where she can meet and work with people with different backgrounds from all over the world.

Yihui obtained dual bachelor’s degrees in Environmental Science and Environmental Economics from Renmin University of China, and a master’s degree in Environmental Health Sciences from Yale University. She is currently based in New Haven, Connecticut.
