Chen Xuejing

As Campaign Manager, Plastics, Chen Xuejing’s work focuses on plastic pollution, plastic policy, and the climate impacts of plastic production.
Prior to joining Pacific Environment, Xuejing worked for the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, the Basel Convention Regional Center for Asia and Pacific, and the Chinese Academy of Sciences. She has led modeling work in China on waste issues and chemicals, and she has extensive experience in Circular Economy law and policy.
Xuejing holds a doctoral degree in Environmental Science and Engineering from Tsinghua University and a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering from Beihang University. In addition, she has completed a joint-training Ph.D. program at Columbia University. Xuejing is very interested in environmental and governance issues, including carbon markets, green finance, and renewable energy. And she is a passionate aerial dancer.
