Supporting the Grassroots: Pacific Environment's Partners in China

Each year, Pacific Environment works with the Global Greengrants Fund to provide small grants to over 50 grassroots organizations around China. Our on-the-ground staff, led by Wen Bo, a respected Chinese activist who co-founded China’s first student environmental network, offers these groups and others capacity-building support so they have the skills and tools needed to succeed. Finally, through workshops and trainings, we bring Chinese activists together to learn from each other’s experiences and to develop cooperative campaigns, maximizing these grassroots groups’ social and environmental impact.

Wildlife Trade in China

One of China’s growing conservation issues is the sale and exchange of wild animals and plants and products made from them. The wildlife trade industry is estimated to be worth billions of dollars, the majority of trade being illegal.
